John Hobbes is an elite policeman in the Criminal Brigade, famous for this rigour and flexible honnesty. He has decided always to attend his "Clients" last moments, and then goes to serial killer Reese execution. Before being taken to the gas room, Hobbes is amazed by Reese profusing him an enigma and speaking in a foreign language.

A few hours later, Hobbes is awaken up by a mysterious call. Day after day, some worrying signs announcing new violences occur as if beyond death, Reese was trying to lead the policeman in an enigma.

Gregory Hoblit :

After his history, political sciences and cinema studies in UCLA, he settled down where he worked as an associated producer and producer on several regional talkshows. Back in Los Angeles in 1978, he becomes associated producer on mini serie "Loose change" and pilot "Dr Strange", and the next year he met Steven Bochco to produce TV film "Vampire" and serie "Paris", "Hill Street Blues" and "Bay City Blues".

Their fruitful collaboration goes on in the Fox with "The Los Angeles Law", "Flic à tout faire", "Cop Rock", "Civil Wars" and "New York Police Blues", for which Hoblit realised several episodes He came to the cinema in 1992 with "Class of 61 and "Fallen" is his third long film.
